About the Author

Rob Miller has been helping startups break into the U.S. government since 2017. Rob left his federal civilian career to join HawkEye 360 to lead federal sales. There, he built a diverse book of business in advance of their massive Series B fundraising round in 2019. Shortly thereafter, Rob was approached by San Francisco-based CrowdAI to help them enter the defense arena. Excited by the promise of artificial intelligence, Rob joined the team that same year. Once again leading federal sales, Rob secured contracts on flagship AI programs across the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community. In 2023, HawkEye 360 was valued nearing $1B, and CrowdAI was acquired by international defense giant, Saab Inc.

Prior to entering the private sector, Rob served nearly 15 years in the federal government in high-visibility assignments spanning Capitol Hill, the Intelligence Community, and the National Security Council staff at the White House.

Rob earned an MA in international affairs and economics from the prestigious Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies and a BA in economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
